On March 09, 2020 the Provincial of Environment and Natural Resources-Marinduque headed by Imelda M. Diaz, OIC-PENR Officer joins the celebration of Women’s Week with a theme “We Make Change Work for Women”. This is accordance with Proclamation No. 224 which declares every first week of March as Women’s Week and March 8 as Women’s Rights and International Peace Day. A total of seventy four (74) participants, 41 male (55%) and 31 female (45%) participated in the celebration.
Engr. Cynthia U. Lozano, Vice Chairperson of PENRO Marinduque GAD FPS highlighted during her opening remarks that the 2017-2022 theme “We Make Change Work for Women” stands for Women Empowerment for the word “WE”. The word “MAKE CHANGE WORK FOR WOMEN” symbolize/denote the Magna Carta for Women and the word “CHANGE” indicates Compassionate and Harmonized Actions and Networks for Gender Equality. To spread the advocacy online, she encouraged updating of profile pictures in the social media accounts and use of hashtag #WomenMakeChange in all posts related to the celebration.
She also mentioned that through the implementation of laws on Gender and Development women are now partners of men in development and nation building.
For. Mary Grace P. Maniquiz, Secretariat of PENRO Marinduque GAD FPS had a brief lecture on the Magna Carta of Women and Gender and Development. She elaborated how integration of women as full and equal partner in the financial, social and economic development of her own family.
As part of #SerbisyoParaKayJuana, the Seikatsu Company -Better Health Greater Wealth represented by Mr. Jay Suñiga, provided free therapy services to the participants using “High Potential Therapy” machine. Prior to the therapy session, Ms. Jenelyn Ayuste and Ms. Princess Mae Erandio, staff of Seikatsu gave a short briefing on the benefits and the eligible participants who may only avail the therapy. The participants felt relaxed, comfortable and rejuvenated after a 30-minute therapy.
OIC-PENR Officer Imelda M. Diaz awarded the Certificate of Appreciation to Seikatsu Company for providing therapy session as Serbisyo Para Kay Juana. For. Gemma Delos Reyes, Chairperson of Plans, Programs and Budget of PENRO Marinduque expressed her gratitude towards the organizers, partner company, participants and On-the-Job Trainee (OJT) of Marinduque State College MSC) who contributed to the success of the event.
